Obama is the Shitbird paradox: charming, articulate, the best communicator to hold the office in modern memory — and a man who personally approved weekly kill lists, bombed seven countries, and deported more people than any predecessor while being celebrated as a progressive. He authorized the assassination of a U.S. citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki, without trial; a separate strike killed al-Awlaki's 16-year-old son two weeks later. He bombed an MSF hospital in Kunduz — 42 dead. He prosecuted more whistleblowers under the Espionage Act than all prior presidents combined, and declined to prosecute a single torture architect, cementing presidential impunity.

Libya toppled Gaddafi and produced a failed state with open slave markets. And the entry the previous version of this page handed entirely to his successor: the Yemen war started on Obama's watch. In March 2015 his administration greenlit the Saudi-led campaign and supplied the refueling, targeting assistance, and munitions that made it possible.
